Data and method
Source
Company figures come from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's EDGAR XBRL companyfacts interface (data.sec.gov/api/xbrl/companyfacts/) and the SEC list of tickers (sec.gov/files/company_tickers_exchange.json). We read annual reports on Form 10-K only. Fetched November 2, 2026. The figures are tagged by the companies themselves in their filings; the SEC does not audit or vouch for them.
Data licence position
- The SEC's website policy states that information presented on sec.gov is public information and may be copied or further distributed by users without the SEC's permission, and asks users to consider citing the SEC as the source. We cite the SEC and the filing on every company page. Source: sec.gov/about/privacy-information, section "Website Dissemination".
- On that basis we display the reported facts and simple arithmetic on them (per-share figures). We do not copy SEC logos or artwork and we do not use the names SEC or EDGAR in our name or domain; the SEC reserves those trademarks. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the SEC.
- Fair access: the SEC asks automated users to identify themselves and stay under 10 requests per second. Our one-time fetch used a descriptive User-Agent with our contact address and about 3 requests per second (0.34 s apart, well under the 10 per second limit). The website does not call the SEC when you visit; all figures are built into the pages.
- Other filers' own text and trademarks remain theirs. We reproduce numbers, not narrative text from filings.
What we left out, and why
- Live and historical share prices: licence, staleness and the risk of looking like a signal.
- Ratings, targets, rankings, forecasts and any "good or bad" label.
- Quarterly data and non-GAAP measures: not in the annual tags we read.
- Companies without the standard tags (EPS, equity, diluted shares): many banks, insurers, trusts and foreign filers. They can be added when checked.
- Segment or per-share-class detail: dual-class companies show company-wide figures divided by total weighted diluted shares.
How each figure is calculated
- EPS:
EarningsPerShareDiluted(orEarningsPerShareBasicAndDiluted) for the fiscal year, as reported. - Book value per share =
StockholdersEquityat fiscal year end ÷WeightedAverageNumberOfDilutedSharesOutstandingfor the year. Period-end shares would differ slightly. - Free cash flow =
NetCashProvidedByUsedInOperatingActivities−PaymentsToAcquirePropertyPlantAndEquipment(orPaymentsToAcquireProductiveAssets); per share ÷ diluted shares. Shown only when both are reported. - Graham number = √(22.5 × EPS × book value per share), shown only when both are positive.
- Revenue, net income:
RevenuesorRevenueFromContractWithCustomerExcludingAssessedTax(and similar),NetIncomeLoss. - DCF, P/E, PEG, dividend discount, yields, ROE: the formulas shown on each calculator page, evaluated in your browser on your inputs.
Limits
XBRL data can contain tagging errors or later restatements; if a figure matters, open the filing linked on the company page. Where the same fiscal year appears in several filings we use the latest. Numbers are rounded for display only.
